Missouri-based Bluegrass band Route 3 just released their brand new single, “Don't Know What I’ll Do.” Available today, it marks the lead single from the group’s forthcoming project Just Believe, set for release this summer via Pinecastle Records.

“Don’t Know What I’ll Do” is a tune that was written by Route 3 member Jason Jordan. This piece weaves an emotional narrative of love and reunion, underscored by a dynamic blend of instrumental performances. The hard-driving instrumentation for the song showcases each member, like Jordan’s robust guitar work, Doug Clifton’s bass undertone, Janice Martin’s banjo contributions and Greg Potter’s mandolin haromines. They are also accompanied by special guest Ron Stewart on fiddle.

“Whenever I wrote this song I was coming home from playing music and was stopped by a train. I just kind of started thinking about what it was like years and years ago when folks traveled by train and what kind of a journey it was for someone to get home to their family,” explains Jason Jordan. “Also, in my hometown, we have a lot of train traffic because we have feed mills that are close to the tracks so I immediately thought of home.”

He adds, “I wanted this to grab people's attention with the chord progression and also just a driving Bluegrass tempo. When it comes to the chorus, I think we can all relate to hearing what I would call the ‘whine’ of an engine as it’s pulling down the track.”

So what else can fans expect to hear from the upcoming Just Believe album? The band stayed true to their unique sound by including a total of seven new tracks. In addition to the lead single, it’s filled with other engaging upbeat compositions like the powerful title-track. There is also a variety of catchy mid-tempo recordings like “North & South” and “Boy From West Virginia.” Jason Jordan took his songwriting to new heights, penning an impressive six of the seven cuts. Two of the track were also co-written with bandmate Greg Potter. The overall sound stays true to Route 3’s previous album Losing Time. The project marked their first release on PInecastle Records and served as an introduction to the national Bluegrass scene, after several years touring as a regional band.
