“The only way you’ll be truly gone is if I never wake up again.”

The barroom clears out and all you see her alone at the bar. The lowest point that anyone could be at in their life would be to feel like the only way you will be free from your pain is if you never wake up again. In this case, she can no longer live the way she has been living, wondering if and when he’s coming home and what tomorrow will bring. She sees no light at the end of a very long tunnel and her choice at that moment is to drown her own sorrows in a bottle of tequila.

I’ve got a bottle of tequila and a handful of salt
The first one I’ll drink to you
The second will help to ease my mind
By the fifth I won’t remember your name
And I may dance on the tables
Dance cross the floor
I might even forget why I came
But, the only way you’ll be truly gone
Is if I never wake up again
