Biography
Currently based in Texas, yet known worldwide, Lochlann Green is a singer/songwriter/guitarist whose music takes on a variety of different styles and genres. From the likes of Scottish, Irish, and English Trad-Folk artists like Kris Drever, Roddy Woomble, John McCusker, Kate Rusby, Karine Polwart, Julie Fowlis, Jenna Reid, Dochas, and Danu; to that of more rockier Alternative/Indie bands such as Travis, Idlewild, Doves, Oasis, Coldplay, Radiohead, Keane, U2, and Irish alternative rock band The Chakras.

Stemmed from a great love and deep appreciation of Scottish, Irish, and English Traditional Folk & Celtic music, Green was inspired to write dozens of songs and tunes over the past few years, which would be the foundation for his debut Folk double-album, "Autumns & Winters" featuring a collection of original songs and tunes with a tentative worldwide release date in 2013/2014. Also being greatly inspired by Alternative/Indie Rock music, he has written and recorded another quadruple-dozen songs over the past few years for his solo projects “The Dwellers” and “Union Glory”. Throughout 2010 and 2011, he released several EPs with “The Dwellers” through his self-released label “Skye Sounds”. A solo double-album of acoustic cover songs and original tunes was also released in 2011 and sold at shows. With “Union Glory” taking root in 2011, a new wave of songs were written and recorded for the upcoming "Starry Starry Canyons EP" and full-length double-album, "The Silent Times" aiming to be released worldwide in 2013/2014.

In February of 2008, Lochlann Green arrived on the El Paso music scene playing dozens of coffee shop gigs around the city; some of these included Starbucks, Kinley’s House Coffee & Tea, and The Percolator. In June of 2009, he participated in Teenfest 2009 at Cohen Stadium and made himself the opening act to thousands of spectators as they passed through the front gates. Throughout 2009 to 2013, Green progressed from playing small coffee shop gigs to performing in well over 200 shows of all kinds to thousands of people at restaurants, bars, clubs, and art markets such as Kiki’s Mexican Restaurant, The Pizza Joint, Lips Lounge, The Garage Tequila Bar, Loft Light Studios, The Hoppy Monk, Joe Vinny & Bronsons Bohemian Café; to more prominent concert venues like Lowbrow Palace and Tricky Falls. Since 2009, he’s shared the stage with scores of local artists including Alison Westermann, Christina Velia Gurrola, Cigarettes After Sex, Elusive Eden, Elyse Wieland, Emily Davis, Jamie Hernandez, Manifique, Miki Girts & Her Ukulele, Omar Cuellar, Our Friend The Mountain, Ralpheene, Ross Fleming, The Iveys, The San Patricios, Trailerband, and many more. In July of 2011, Green shared the stage and accompanied Country/Rock artist Elyse Wieland for a show at McKelligon Canyon’s summer concert series, “Cool Canyon Nights” where the pair had performed to a strong crowd of hundreds. In 2011 and 2012, he created and ran a monthly acoustic series of shows called “An Acoustic Night For Good Folk” at various venues around the city to help benefit and promote other local artists and their music. Along with this, he ran a weekly series that he created at The Percolator called “Lunchbreak at The Perc” featuring himself and several new artists every week. In the spring and fall of 2012, he assisted with a songwriting contest called the “El Paso Song Writing Contest” created and run by local songwriter, Grant Collinsworth. In December of 2012, Green played his third “mARTket” performance for local activist Carlo Mendo’s art market creation “mARTket” which was held at a local concert venue, Tricky Falls. KRUX radio presenter Chelsea Jordan of “The Mixtape with DJ CJ” was in attendance that night and photographed Green’s performance at Tricky Falls. In February 2013, Green performed on the UTEP Union Plaza Stage at a spring concert series “High Noon Music Series” held at the University Of Texas at El Paso where he performed for hundreds of college students.
Currently an extended UK & European tour are in the works for late 2013/early 2014.

In January of 2010, Green’s music burst onto El Paso’s radio airwaves through the great support of KTEP radio presenter Dan Alloway from KTEP’s Saturday night radio show “Folk Fury”. He has been a regular featured artist with KTEP and has appeared in nearly a dozen radio interviews on KTEP since 2010 during their annual KTEP fundraisers as well as their Christmas shows on Folk Fury. In March of 2012, he made a first appearance on KTEP’s “State Of The Arts” with Monica Gomez in an exclusive interview to discuss some of the projects in which he had been involved with at the time.

Throughout 2012 and 2013, various radio stations and radio presenters across Scotland, Germany, England, Australia, and Canada have given firm support and promotion to Green’s music regularly with fair amounts of airplay. His music has been played on Celtic Music Radio, Generate Radio, Schotten Radio, Dunoon Community Radio, Lionheart Radio, Inverclyde Radio, KA Radio, and Blues & Roots Radio with over 160 radio plays broadcasting all over the UK & Ireland, Europe, Canada, America, and Australia. His music has been played along side prestigious UK, European, and Australian artists such as Amber Road, Bags Of Rock, Ciaran Dorris, Claymore, Coast, Davy Lees, Gerry Creen, Gerry Reilly, Have Mercy Las Vegas, Kris Drever, Ivan Drever, John Montgomery, Julie Fowlis, Kate Rusby, Karine Polwart, Lau, Manran, Mary Kathleen Burke, Neil Mitchell, Pauline Alexander, Red Hot Chili Pipers, Reely Jiggered, Runrig, Skerryvore, The Daddy Naggins, The Paul McKenna Band, The Seer, The Waterboys, and many more.

In 2013, having had great success with his music getting played on radio stations worldwide, Green decided to generously help his friends and fellow artists from both sides of the Atlantic in getting their music played on radio stations in the UK, Europe, America, and Australia. In March of 2013, he introduced KA Radio owner & radio presenter Cheryl Scott to music of Texas artists from El Paso and aided in the airplay of songs from Our Friend The Mountain, Emily Davis, Aux.78, Manifique, and Elyse Wieland. Throughout the end of April and beginning of May he also started working together with Cheryl Scott from KA Radio in Kilmarnock on a new Texas Artists special show “From Texas & Beyond”, particularly featuring music of artists from El Paso. The first special episode of “From Texas & Beyond” aired on the 14th of May 2013 and featured just over three hours of music from Union Glory, Our Friend The Mountain, Emily Davis, Aux.78, Manifique, Elyse Wieland, Cigarettes After Sex, Alison Westermann, Trailerband, and Maddison Livingston. Currently being a talent scout and representative of KA Radio on the US side, further special episodes are expected to follow within the next few months. Green is also currently working on several more projects to help his friends and fellow artists in Scotland, Ireland, England, Germany, Canada, and Australia in getting airplay on radio stations in America. In May of 2013, he introduced El Paso radio presenter Dan Alloway of KTEP’s Folk Fury to music from Ciaran Dorris, Mary Kathleen Burke, Pauline Alexander, The Daddy Naggins, Have Mercy Las Vegas, and Neil Mitchell which led to the airplay of their songs in an exclusive radio interview on the 25th of May. Also featured in the same exclusive interview were a few of Green’s new original tunes on guitar played live on-air.
Further efforts in aiding artists, radio stations, and radio presenters from both sides of the Atlantic in getting promotion will be announced soon.

Furthermore, Green is a proud listener and supporter of Celtic Music Radio, Generate Radio, Dunoon Community Radio, Inverclyde Radio, KA Radio in Scotland; Lionheart Radio in England; Blues & Roots Radio in Canada; Schotten Radio in Germany; and KTEP, KRUX, & EPCC Alt Radio in America throughout the weekdays and weekends.
