About The PaperSons
The PaperSons are a San Francisco based alternative rock band formed in the summer of 2007. With a sound comparable to bands such as Cursive, Queens of the Stone Age, The Strokes, and Thrice you can easily imagine the PaperSons opening up a multi city tour for Sparta, with whom they share a flare for their hardcore roots. The PaperSons are Phil Pristia, 26 (guitar), Tom Mccullough, 26 (vocals), Dennis Rodriguez, 27 (drums), and Fran Dickinson 30 (bass.)
Tom and Phil have been friends since they met back in their teen years while attending Livermore high school. Dennis and Phil met while studying music at CSU Chico, where they began working together on projects. In 2005, Philadelphia, PA native Fran Dickinson joined Midnight in a Perfect World, an independent rock band founded by Dennis, Phil and fellow Chico grad Sean Cass. Midnight... released a full length LP in 2006 which hailed mixed reviews from critics in the Bay Area. After this disappointing reception the band turned inward to examine exactly what they wanted out of music and in the wake of this reflection Midnight... was dissolved. Feeling like there was unfinished business, Dennis, Fran, and Phil recruited long time friend Tom McCullough to sing vocals for The PaperSons.
Livermore high school, where Phil and Tom met, was a poetic setting for the debut of The PaperSons, who supported the Relay for Life fundraiser Saturday June 23rd, 2007. Continuing to gig throughout July, The PaperSons sold every copy of their self-produced demo CD at only their second show. Feeling this as the shape of things to come, The PaperSons plan the release of an EP late 2007. The band's immediate goals are to secure high profile gigs at premiere venues in and around San Francisco. The Paperson's are also working hard to achieve radio and print press coverage for their work.
