5th Ward Weebie Continues Critical Success of "Let Me Find Out"
(NEW ORLEANS, LA) - As a New Year comes into the fold and Mardi Gras sits just less than a month away, New Orleans' original Bounce music legend, 5th Ward Weebie is gearing up for his biggest year yet.

Backed by one of the most popular songs in New Orleans over the last yearcalled "Let Me Find Out," Weebie is shedding new light on a genre thats been recently popularized by the twerking movement.

But while other artists in New Orleans have received a lot of attention, Weebie is known on the local block party scene, in night clubs and bar rooms, as the original King of Bounce music. Ask around New Orleans and you will find that Weebie has been on the grind having worked with artists like Master P, Lil Wayne and has performed at some of the biggest and best parties in New Orleans like New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis' birthday.

Currently Weebie's music is available upon request at the following cities and radio stations and in 2014 "Let Me Find Out" was in the top 5 of all songs spun on New Orleans urban music radio.

Sirius Satellite-Shade, KQBT-Houston, WJMI-Jackson, MS, WRBJ–Jackson, MS, WFXA-Augusta, GA, WPRW-Augusta, GA, WHXT-Columbia, SC, WEUP-Huntsville, AL, WFXM Macon, GA, WLZN-Macon, GA, KMJJ-Shreveport KBTT-Shreveport

"I give props to everyone before me and out now, but I think there's a whole different side to the bounce movement that I want to show people," an energetic 5th Ward Weebie explained. "A lot of people don't know I've been in the game since 98 working with Master P, I've been doing my thing. Wayne, Master P, those guys know about me. They know I'm a real factor in New Orleans because I've been here for a while."

To kick off the New Year right New Orleans Bounce music legend, 5th Ward Weebie, is launching a viral contest for his fans and fans of "twerking" called the #BootyMeat Contest. Inspired by a line from his hit "Let Me Find Out" Weebie is on a mission to find the best twerking bounce music fans across the country.

The winner will get to join Weebie on stage at SXSW for his performance of "Let Me Find Out" and other hit songs.. Weebie looks to leave his legendary mark on the now famous phenomenon of Bounce music and twerking after the nation was caught by storm with twerking by the likes of Miley Cyrus and others.

"Its kind of bittersweet. Its a good thing and a bad thing at the same time. I'm not mad, it is what it is, they took "Twerk," something that we created since the early 1980s and a lot of people come here and take it and try to create it as their own. It doesn't really give us the proper respect we deserve for it. But when you come to the city you gonna see, or when I come to your city you gonna see. Watch the "Let Me Find Out" video check the contest and you will know we are the originators of this bounce music."

"The New Orleans Bounce sound started elevating Early to Mid 90's when artist like Dj Jubilee Came Out With Call & Response Dance Songs And Made The Girls Twerk. However we also had a list of other artist/groups such as: Juvenile, Magnolia Slim, Partners n Crime, Ms Tee, Ricky B, Everlasting Hit Man, who changed the bounce game by creating more lyrical content to set the bar higher and create a more of an authentic sound."

In the mean time plan to see 5th Ward Weebie at SXSW, Mardi Gras, Essence Fest and a host of other live shows as the summer time approaches because he will be bringing New Orleans to a city near you soon!

"Radio Creds" are votes awarded to artists by radio programmers who have downloaded their music and have been impressed with the artist's professionalism and the audience's response to the new music. Creds help artists advance through the AirPlay Direct community.

Only radio accounts may add a Radio Cred. One week after the track has been downloaded the radio account member will receive an email requesting a Cred for each artist they've downloaded.
