This New Orleans anthem was written and iconicized by singer/trumpeter Kermit Ruffins and
the Rebirth Brass Band. The band was started in 1983 by tuba/sousaphone player Philip
Frazier, his brother, bass drummer Keith Frazier and Ruffins. The Rebirth Brass Band has
become a New Orleans institution, and a rite of passage. Featuring the Grammy Awardwinning
Rebirth Brass Band, with an all-trumpet ensemble, Ruffins and producer Irvin Mayfield
further the belief that there can never be too much trumpet.
