You Make Me Whole
There was a time when I’d just soldier on
You’d look at me and never see the tears in my uniform
But you let me lay my weapons down
I don’t lose when I surrender now

Anybody else would’ve just seen pieces
Laying on the ground, nothing worth keeping
Anybody else would’ve let me go
But you won’t
You’re like a potter seeing beauty in a broken vase
Never throwing something so precious away
You put me back together and fill the cracks with gold
You make me whole

Hurts to stumble, hurts more to fall
These battle scars of ours become our prison walls
Brick by brick, you tore mine down
You took me by the hand baby and you led me out
Don’t you know

Anybody else would’ve just seen pieces
Laying on the ground, nothing worth keeping
Anybody else would’ve let me go
But you won’t
You’re like a potter seeing beauty in a broken vase
Never throwing something so precious away
You put me back together and fill the cracks with gold
You make me whole, you make me whole

I’m open now, but not so broken now
Little by little you’re mending me
Though I don’t know how
I don’t know how

Anybody else would’ve just seen pieces
Laying on the ground, nothing worth keeping
Anybody else would’ve let me go
But you won’t
You’re like a potter seeing beauty in a broken vase
Never throwing something so precious away
You put me back together and fill the cracks with gold
You make me whole, you make me whole
