Appaloosa
As the band was touring out through the state of Arizona, I walked through the lobby of the hotel and noticed a huge painting of an Appaloosa horse running through the Painted Desert with storms and lightning in the far off distance. The painting inspired the song.

Appaloosa
I want to ride my Appaloosa out on the Painted Desert
out upon the plains neath the Arizona sky
I can smell the camp fire burning late in the evening
a lady on my mind with a twinkle in her eye

chorus:
take me back to the days of the cowboys
take me back where they used to ride the range
I can to hear the thunder see the lightning on a sky of blue
wanna ride my Appaloosa and fall in love with you

Now my lady comes a running from the front porch of the cabin
That dog is a barkin’ and running by my side
My dream is nearly over as the sun is arising
It dances on my pillow as my eyes open wide

chorus:
take me back to the days of the cowboys
take me back where they used to ride the range
I can hear the thunder see the lightning on a sky of blue I wanna to ride my appaloosa and fall in love with you, wanna ride my appaloosa and fall in love with you.
