The Rapture - William Ray
The Rapture
Charles Riddle - Charles E. Riddle, Sr. BMI
Last night I walked outside and looked to the midnight
I saw the Heavens open wide with wings of Heavenly flight
I heard the mighty rushing winds from the sky
Then I realized in a twinkle that I too could fly
Oh my Lord, what a morning
Oh my Lord, what a day
Oh my Lord, what a midnight
You’ve called Your children away
I saw the earth open and the dead in Christ arise
And then I too joined them with shouts of Glory in the sky
I felt myself give up the cares of this earthly home
It was a Heavenly trip, I was airborne
REPEAT CHORUS:
I looked back on this world full of sorrows and fear
Like the Bible scholars prophesied, this was the Rapture
My child, this gives you fair warning for that day
Keep Jesus in your soul and then you will say
REPEAT CHORUS:
Oh my Lord, what a midnight
You’ve called Your children away
