Anasazi
The Anasazi flute, made from box elder, is thought to be the first Native American flute discovered. During an excavation in a small cave in Northeastern Arizona, a team of archaeologists stumbled upon some wooden flutes that are believed to have been created between 620 and 670 A.D. by the Ancient Poeblans, commonly known as the Anasazi people. This piece is written to capture the mystery and beauty that defines the sound of the Anasazi flute.
