Biography

This artist is from Indianapolis,Indiana who presently resides in Houston, Texas. John Devin Bates grew up playing in the church and still does at the very present. This artist isn't just limited to one genre but has embraced all different aspects of music in general. This artist began his musical journey at the age of 14.Under a a disciplined mother that gave structure to him and teaching him to do his best at what he approached.John started listening to Oscar Peterson, Art Tatum,Alex Bugnon,and several jazz artist and began to develop a sense of what jazz is and it's art form.John began formal instruction at the Fairview Studios in Indianapolis,Indiana and went on to excel in his playing. John has studied classical music and piano technique in particular.John moved to Houston, Texas in 1997 and was for a number of years music director at churches in the Houston/Galveston areas.Being brought up in the pentecostal denomonation Church of God in Christ,John has played on many platforms for district,state,and national levels.John is a songwriter as well. He wrote and produced the song "Peace" on the Pastor Rudy Church CD.John is respected by most of his peers as being a highly skilled musician in church and secular. This instrumental single is from the upcoming album project"Seasons" that is scheduled for release between July and August 2012!! This is a promising project from this NEW ARTIST!!!
