“The writing on this record is possibly the best I have come across in several years…. The lyrics are intelligent and chock full of emotion. Most of the songs are either penned by Ms. Thien, or written in collaboration…. Out of five stars, this record gets all five.” Roy Brown, Victory Music
“Every track is somehow better than the one before it and leaves you suffering a huge let down when the album ends after only 11 songs. But man alive, these 11 songs are fandamntastic! 8 of the songs were either wrote or co-wrote by KT showing that her depth as a song writer is far ahead of the pack on this her third album. From the grab you by the ears and pull you straight into the speakers opening song Love That s Made to Share to the classic cover of Wild Women Don t Have the Blues with Billy Gibson on the Harmonica, she has crafted a classically perfect album.” MusikReviews.com
“This is the third album from this feisty-sounding singer and guitarist, and right from the first notes of the strutting opener she exhibits a strong Stax/Memphis influence (there is some very nice work from the horns on this set). The opener has guests Hubert Sumlin and the impressive Arthur Neilson – DixieFrog watchers should be familiar with his name – trading hot guitar licks too; Sumlin is even more impressive on the Chicago styled ‘Please Drive’, with an especially breathy, sultry vocal from Kirsten. Elsewhere she tackles more Memphis derived sounds, a bit of ultra-smooth soul, a little rock, funk and country, a different version of ‘I Ain’t Superstitious’ and the acoustic blues of Ida Cox’s ‘wild Women Don’t Have the Blues’. Overall this is an impressive set – though not totally a blues set – and Kirsten is definitely a name to watch.” Blues & Rhythm UK
“This fire-haired songwriter’s voice strikes a perfect balance between the precise but homey crooning of Bonnie Raitt and the sheer incendiary power of Janis Joplin….Too macho for a taste of estro-rock? Delicious will have you asking for seconds.” Keyboard Magazine
“Kirsten Thien’s stock in trade is modern blues infused with soul and rock. She’s a lithe, composed vocalist, inclined to use her attractive voice to elevate rather than plumb lyrics in songs she’s written about sensual love.” DownBeat
“I had the chance to see Kirsten Thien last week at the Triad Theater in Manhattan, and she burned it up….really nothing but praise for her.” Eric Holland, DJ, WFUV (NYC)
"[Thien] just seems to have a natural gift for singing blues and blues-rock…." Blues Revue
“NYC-based singer/guitarist Kirsten Thien has served up a captivating soul set that, whether smoldering or scorching, is always generating serious heat…. Find this one and buy it.” Jazz and Blues Report
“In my opinion Kirsten is the best female blues talent of this year.” Ton Wanten, Triple R Blues Radio NL
"Thien's got a great set of pipes moving from Bonnie Raitt mellow to Aretha Franklin wailing high notes." Performing Songwriter
