Biography
Ladd Biro comes to music naturally; his father played violin, his mother, piano, and he began piano lessons as a wee lad(d). He joined the school band playing sax, and as a teen, perhaps emulating his older brother, he formed a musical group made up of school chums. "We called it Duration," he recalls ruefully, "and it seemed like a cool name. Then along came a nasal spray by that name, and . . . well, it sort of lost its cool." He played bass in that band, and became proficient enough to later join his older brother's band. They later parted - amicably - but by then, music was his lifeblood, and he's never looked back.
Ladd Biro has long been known as an excellent sideman, variably as both a bassist and pianist, but more recently has gained widespread notice as a vocalist and songwriter. His breakout song - Reach Out! - has been praised by listeners and audiences; meanwhile, PD's at radio stations with divergent formats have also taken a liking to it. The CD has received airplay on both the internet and commercial stations in the midwest. Positive reviews for it's production from both media as well as the ever critical cadre of professional musicians explain why it received high marks during market tests.
Biro has often teamed with well-known songwriter Dan Schneider, who's penned a number of well-known songs in a variety of genres which include adult-contemporary, country, and national TV themes. Dan is a former staff writer with Acuff Rose/Sony ATV.
They recently collaborated on Shades of White, which in addition to being called "the best new Christmas song in years and years".
Ladd's album 'Isn't It Romantic' is available at Barnes & Noble, Borders, and digitally at Itunes.com and Amazon.com and a full compliment of internet platforms.
