Biography
Hi there,
My name is Letha, and I am a singer, songwriter and musician. I play a mixture of bluegrass, country, rock and blues.
My first time on stage was in 1972, as a child when my mom entered me into a talent show. After that, I played whenever I had the chance, in school, at small gatherings, just about anytime anyplace, lol. We had our first band as a family and played gospel and bluegrass in a band called Hope and Harmony. We recorded an album and played festivals and small venues. I went on to play in a country/rock band called Shotgun for about 2 years. I played bass. Then I progressed to another band called Crossroads, which lasted around 12 year. This band played more rock, but included some country, blues and rock. I played keyboards, accoustic guitar, bass and occasionally fiddle on special songs. We played all around Mid Michigan, but had a home base in a small club called the Woverine for about 6 of those years. We recorded a few of my originals, and we got some airplay on both rock and country stations. I have recorded in Nashville, recorded an album in Michigan, and continue to write and record in my home studio. I have had the pleasure of being asked for an interview on 2 small radio shows in the past and guest hosted one of them a few time. It has been a wonderful career, and although I play a lot less often now, my love of music never dies. I now play occasionally as a single, or play with a few of my great friends who are wonderful musicians, especially my dobro and mandolin player. I have focused alot in the last years of semi retirement on writing and recording instead of performing live, although I still enjoy that also. I play a little on a few instruments including guitar, bass, mandolin, fiddle, slide guitar and play around with cigar box guitars. Thanks for visiting, and have a great day.
best wishes, Letha Allen
