Biography

Currently based in Texas, yet known worldwide, Lochlann Green is a singer/songwriter/guitarist whose music takes on a variety of different styles and genres. From the likes of Scottish, Irish, and English Trad-Folk artists like Kris Drever, Roddy Woomble, John McCusker, Kate Rusby, Karine Polwart, Julie Fowlis, Jenna Reid, Dochas, and Danu; to that of more rockier Alternative/Indie bands such as Travis, Idlewild, Doves, Oasis, Coldplay, Radiohead, Keane, U2, and upcoming Irish alternative rock band The Chakras.

Arisen from a great love and deep appreciation of Scottish, Irish, and English traditional folk & celtic music, Green took it upon himself to write dozens of songs and tunes over the past few years, which would be the foundation and ground-work for his debut folk album, "Autumns & Winters" aiming for a worldwide release in Summer 2013. He has also written and recorded another double-dozen of songs for his Alternative/Indie Rock solo side-project called “Union Glory”, with his "Starry Starry Canyons EP" and full-length debut double album, "The Silent Times" aiming to be released in Spring 2013/Summer 2013.

In February of 2008, Lochlann Green took the El Paso music scene by storm; starting out playing small gigs at various coffee shops around the city including Starbucks, Kinley’s House Coffee & Tea, and The Percolator. He then worked his way up to playing a multitude of shows at bars, clubs, and concert venues such as M’s Lips Lounge, The Garage Tequila Bar, Loft Light Studios, Joe Vinny & Bronsons Bohemian Cafe, Lowbrow Palace, and Tricky Falls in Central, Downtown, and West El Paso. Since January 2010, Green’s music burst onto the radio airwaves through the great support of Dan Alloway from KTEP’s Saturday night radio show, “Folk Fury” with Dan Alloway & Gregg Carthy. He has been a regular with KTEP and has appeared in radio interviews each year since 2010 during their annual fundraiser drives for KTEP as well as their Folk Fury Christmas shows. In late July 2011, Green shared the stage and played together with artist Elyse Wieland for a show at McKelligon Canyon’s summer concert series, “Cool Canyon Nights”. In both 2011 and 2012, Green has also shared the stage at various gigs with local bands and artists including Elyse Wieland, Emily Davis, Jamie Hernandez, Omar Cuellar, Ross Fleming, Cigarettes After Sex, Our Friend The Mountain, Ralpheene, The Iveys, and The San Patricios. On the side, he created and ran a monthly acoustic series called “An Acoustic Night For Good Folk” to help benefit and promote other local artists and their music. In 2012 and 2013, various radio stations and presenters in Scotland, England, Germany, Canada, and Australia have been supporting and promoting Green’s music regularly on Celtic Music Radio, Generate Radio, Lionheart Radio, Dunoon Community Radio, Inverclyde Radio, KA Radio, Schotten Radio, and Blues & Roots Radio with over 150 radio plays broadcasting all over Scotland, Ireland, England, West Europe, America, Canada, and Australia. Lochlann Green has performed well over 200 shows of all sizes & age groups and he continues to strive towards more great things in the coming future.

Furthermore, Green is a proud listener and supporter of Scotland’s “Celtic Music Radio” in Glasgow, “Generate Radio” in Berwickshire, “Dunoon Community Radio” in Dunoon, "Inverclyde Radio" in Inverclyde, and "KA Radio" in Kilmarnock. He also supports English radio station "Lionheart Radio" in Alnwick, Canadian radio station “Blues & Roots Radio” in Ontario, German radio station “Schotten Radio” in West Germany, and local radio stations KTEP, EPCC Alt Radio, and KRUX in America throughout the weekdays and weekends. In addition, he is the playlist editor for the Mary Kathleen Burke Show on Celtic Music Radio every Sunday from 7pm-9pm UK Time since April 2012.
