Biography

NJE is a solo hip-hop artist hailing from Campbelltown in Sydney Australia, (Originally born in New Zealand). He has always had a love & passion for Hip Hop & started writing in 1999. In December 2005 he released his debut album NJE- LIFE’S SCRIPTUREZ Independently without a label which he self distributed to various stores around AUS such as JB HI FI & online...

In May 2008 NJE followed up his debut with a new mixtape titled “THE INDEPENDENT HUSTLER’S MIXTAPE” with DJ D-KUTZ to give his fans a taste of what to expect in the future. The mixtape showcased a mix of soulful beats with some underground street tracks that was very well recieved by his fast growing fanbase. The new CD is now available on ITUNES as single tracks or full album.

The mixtape also spawned an underground hit with the live favourite "BROKE MAN'S BOUNCE" which gained airplay on NOVA in Adelaide, plus gained some play on Triple J briefly. The positive feedback from the mixtape sparked up a tour of Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide & back to Sydney. All shows were quite succesfull & featured some of Australia's finest up & comers like PEZ & 360, K21, SOCIAL CHANGE, CHASE, OFFENSIVE LINESMEN (UNDA DWELLA & PLAGUE - NOW SPLIT), ACIZM, THE HIGH KNIGHTS, OSEVEN, FORTAY, PHATCHANCE, TYCOTIC, DRAKE & JOHNNY UTAH, UNTAYMABLE & Many more... The tour was also done to help build good relationships around Aus with venues & artists for future events & tours.

NJE has been touring & promoting the current mixtape through his own hard work as well as via his promo street team & mailing list which currently consists of over 400 people Australia/worldwide. Over the years NJE has supported or performed with some big names including XZIBIT, PUBLIC ENEMY, THE OUTLAWZ, D-12, PHRASE & MIND OVER MATTER.

In early 2008 NJE joined a new label SOUL CONNECT RECORDS & is now managed by Anthony Nicita. The label is currently planning NJE’s new album “FROM THE OUTSIDE LOOKING IN” which will feature guest apperances from DANNY BOY (who sang the hook in the 2PAC classics "I AINT MAD AT CHA" & "PICTURE ME ROLLIN'"), MIND OVER MATTER, PHATCHANCE, UNDA DWELLA & UNTAYMABLE. In the coming months we are looking to release the lead single & video "APPETISER (THE ENTREE)" to ITUNES & to TV to help promote & push the new cd. The label is also currently looking for a distro deal to ensure the album is avaliable at all good stores. NJE is a passionate artist with the desire to succeed through hard work & he shows that through what he does not only in his music but as a person as well.
