(My Uncle Marc’s poem summing up his military.)

To sum up my Military
Joined the Navy
Trained
Learned
Followed orders
Gladly went where I was sent or taken
Came home with no scars
As there were no battles
No fighting. No shooting
No shooting at my ship
All made it back to USA
Thankful for this: it allowed me to experience
A South Alabama country boy could hardly imagine.
Learned a lot
Back home in my small part of heaven on earth
Rewarded with a family and a long life
God did take care of me
