Here's Wednesday
Music & Lyrics by Sue Terry
HERE’S WEDNESDAY
A coffee shop
On 3rd and Vine
Sitting there
To pass the time
I was staring at the floor
You walked in the door
I don’t know what year it was
I’m sure it was a Wednesday
You took a seat
Right next to me
We talked from two
Till half past three
Then you lit a cigarette
Said ‘I’m glad we met—
It’s been fun, I gotta run
But I’ll be here next Wednesday’
When Wednesday finally came
I felt that there was something in the air
The coffee shop was just the same
Too bad that you weren’t there
It’s been awhile
Since I’ve been here
The town has changed
In all these years
I remember it so well
The coffee sure was swell
Though I never think of you
Unless of course it’s Wednesday
