Arms Wide Open
Arms Wide Open

These days it’s hard to find
in my own heart and mind
the strength to not be blind
but keep my arms wide open.

When each newspaper page
brings sorrow and outrage,
but this cause I cannot wage
without my arms wide open.

Arms wide open,
without my arms wide open.
Arms wide open,
without my arms wide open.

By now it should be clear—
we can’t dispel fear with fear.
If I’m to build some goodness here
I’ll need my arms wide open.

I may have the will to fight,
but two wrongs won’t make it right.
I must meet might with might,
but keep my arms wide open.

Arms wide open
keep my arms wide open.
Arms wide open
keep my arms wide open.

Instrumental

These days it’s hard to find
the hidden ties that bind,
but our futures are entwined,
so I’ll keep my arms wide open.

Arms wide open,
I’ll keep my arms wide open.
Arms wide open,
I'll keep my arms wide open.
