Down to the Waterfall
Down to the Waterfall

Go down to the waterfall,
slip out of all my clothes.
I’m trying to lose myself,
forget everything I know.

Let go of the plans I’ve made,
be alone with the earth and sky.
Closer to what I was,
closer to knowing why.

I go down to the waterfall,
step over the roots and stones.
A red fox is on my trail,
he smiles as he sees me go.

The sun’s a kaleidoscope
on the leaves of the warm wet ground.
The green of the ferns and moss
laying soft like a velvet gown.

When I stand inside
the cold flood feels like an ocean tide
And there’s a moment when
I can’t tell where I begin and end.

Instrumental

Go down to the waterfall
the way that I’ve always come
when I need serenity
or just want to have some fun

I’m shouting out like a lunatic,
oh, what kind of fool am I?
Alone in a waterfall,
with the day turning into night.
