Farmer's Prayer
Farmer’s Prayer

VERSE 1
Listen to my words, ‘bout a person seldom seen
A man who walked across rollin’ strands of green
Siften dirt through his calloused hands,
Prayin’ for the harvest of the land

VERSE 2
It’s been so long, many farmer’s gone
Please take the time to understand
The meaning of this song
Holding dear to his plow and seeds
for the family he vowed to feed

CHORUS
The farmer fell on his knees
At the end of the day to the Lord he would plea
Bowed his head with folded hands
Dear God please, Bless this land

Verse 3
Early in the mornin’ he tended to his crop
Sweat rollin’ down his back, worth every drop
Said, “It don’t bother me none, the tender touch of
God will bring sweet rain”.

CHORUS
The farmer fell on his knees
At the end of the day to the Lord he would plea
Bowed his head with folded hands
Dear God please, Bless this land

Verse 4
Years ago the fields were gold
Something a man could own
listen close to my words, wisdom to be known
Freedom means the right to keep the harvest you have earned
Taxes, rules and corporate fools,
there’s little in return.

CHORUS
The farmer fell on his knees
At the end of the day to the Lord he would plea
Bowed his head with folded hands
Dear God please, Bless this land
