Gloria
Gloria
Music and Lyrics By Anna Christine Johnson

A long time ago, so they say
A baby boy was born
In the cold on a bed made of hay
That blessed Christmas morn
The sky was dark, but a star shone bright
Three kings came from afar
To bring him riches he couldn't afford
To worship Christ the Lord

Mary knelt by His side as she prayed
Her heart was filled with joy
Angels and shepherds and kings gathered near
To see her baby boy
The world was cold, but their hearts were warm
They knew He was the King
The heavenly hosts filled the sky with their song
The whole world heard them sing (Hear them singing)

Gloria, Hallelujah
Gloria, Amen

Age thirty-three, not a boy, but a man
This humble king
He lived His whole life without telling a lie
He never did one sinful thing
Still we think that we're better than God
Know that we're never wrong
We lie just to make ourselves look strong
So we hung Him upon a tree
We pierced Him for all to see
We heard his dying cry (Hear Him crying)

Gloria, Hallelujah
Gloria, Amen

Some say just a story, but others the truth
It's up to you
But we don't want to think that we're not in control
So we say that believers are fools
We live for ourselves each day
We love, but in selfish ways
We give much less than we take
Maybe someday we'll see
The love of this baby king
Can save us all
And then we'll join to sing

Gloria, Hallelujah
Gloria, Amen
