Holding ripped photos, cleaning up busted frames. See the empty wall where our pictures used to hang. But now they’re just memories, in my head of yesterday. Looking back I wonder, how’d we ever get to be this way? You and I used to laugh, used to dance, used to try. There was a time we loved each other so much we both broke down and cried. Cuz nothing could stop us, nothing could do us any harm, Somehow we lost track of what kept us safe and warm. It takes time to heal the wounds, when they’re made by the ones you love. You don’t know if you want to work it out and make it count, or just give up. I thought we’d be together til we died, but now you just want to say goodbye. I wake up to make you breakfast, I remember you’re gone. Late at night, in the pale moonlight, this empty house feels so alone. I know we’ll never get back to what we had. But I’ll stand up and I’ll move on even though the memory’s so sad. I know it takes time to heal the wounds, when they’re made by the ones you love. Even though we tried to work it out and make it count, we just gave up. And I thought we’d be together til we died, but now you just want to say goodbye. So, for the last time Goodbye.
