Blue Ridge Rain
Back home again in North Carolina
Memories here seem to echo on the wind
Always it calls me back to this place
Close my eyes and still can feel the rain
Falling down to dance upon my face
It’s still the same

Blue Ridge rain, soft upon my face
Blue Ridge rain from the angels of grace
Where my soul was born and saved
In the rain

Unlike the lights and sidewalks of the city
The silver moon shines on these old hills
And I know I can’t go back to yesterday
To revive the ghosts that linger in my past
Because I know where they remain is where they last
Where they last…

Close my eyes and still can hear his pain
Crying “Girl, don’t leave me in the rain”
Blue ridge rain
