What the Blind Man Sees
I heard the news so I rushed to town
There's a hurtin' and it's all a round
The flag on the pole at the old court house
Flies at half mast that's what it's all about

We don't even know what the blind man sees
We can't see the forest 'cuz there's too many trees
There's a fear that paralizes all the feelings that we hide
we dare not even think about the thousands who have died

Well the bus driver man at the old bus line
Didn't show for work he had too much wine
And Mrs. Sprigg at the country store
Doesn't crack a smile she just mops the floor

The only thing we have to fear is fear in disguise
It's tearing up our heart strings and it's showing in our eyes
It's these thoughts that terrorize us not the terror act itself
To deny it is to hide it and to lay it on the shelf

Some mother's son is gonna die today
in a foreign land very far away
The cause for which he dies is really crystal clear
He wants his family home and safe and free from fear

The only thing we have to fear is fear in disguise
It's tearing up our heart strings and it's showing in our eyes
It's these thoughts that terrorize us not the terror act itself
To deny it is to hide it and to lay it on the shelf

But in this cloud of insecurity
Young Americans are proud to be free
They wear the colors Red, White and Blue
They stand up for America and proudly too

The future of our country is now protected by their hands
They're marching in the streets beside the patriotic band
There's a fever that consumes them and they want to do their best
It's this country they're defending in a patriotic test

Deep in the heart of the USA
Our people now are angry and they strive to say
That You can break our bones but you can steal
The spirit that's inside us is very real

We don't even know what the blind man sees
We can't see the forest 'cuz there's too many trees
There's a fear that paralizes all the feelings that we hide
We dare not even think about the thousands who have died
