La Llorona

La Llorona is a Mexican folk song of passion, love and hurt, derived from the legend of La Llorona (The Weeping Woman). You would recognize it from Disney's movie Coco, the movie Frida, or as made popular by Angela Aguilar. Although there are many verses that have been added through time, this interpretation is of a man being trapped by a woman's love.

This song is typically popular when celebrating The Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) on November 1st and 2nd, which acknowledges the symbiotic relationship between life and death.
