Ole Waylon Still Plays On
I had a dream last night, I was at the county fair
I sat up in the grandstands to see a show played there
I recognized that rhythm, I could see from where I sat
I swore that it was Waylon, I could tell by his black hat

He sang some of his songs, he played into the night
When he was done he left the stage and faded out of sight
I still heard music playin, I could hear that Tele scream
Now Im not so sure this morning, that it was just a dream

Chorus
He sang about bein in Texas, with Willie and all of those songs
He told how he loved country music, and then just like a flash he was gone
But his music still played on

I opened up the morning paper to the entertainment page
It showed a picture of Ole Waylon and some places he played
I read how he had come to town ten years ago
To sing and play his ole guitar and do a country show

So I jumped into my truck and I rushed out to the fair
Back stage in the corner, that ole quitar was there
It was all trimmed in leather with oak leaf on the strap
I knew that it was Waylons, cause there laid that ole black hat

Now I know He still sings on
Ole Waylon Still sings On

Chorus
Now he sings about bein in Texas, with Willie and all of those songs
He tells how he loves country music, it seems that hes not really gone
Cause his music still plays on

Ole Waylon still sings on

Thats right, Hoss, Sing On
