Biography
CHARTING NATIONALLY ON THE AMERICANA/ROOTS CHARTS!

"If Cash, Kristofferson, and Knopfler had a child, THIS is what it would sound like!" --- Al Carmichael

"Agua Noir" means "Dark Waters" and describes where this music came from. This 45 minutes of music explores the deepest places in the human soul and experience and while somewhat dark is just plain fun and refreshing to listen to.

It contains 11 tracks written and performed by Paul Evans Pedersen, Jr. (acoustic guitar, vocals), with help from Jim Heffernan (steel guitar, dobro, electric lead and rhythm guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, banjo, and drum programming), Bill Corvino (electric lead and rhythm guitar, gut string acoustic), and Chester Ferguson (sax).

"Agua Noir" delivers "out-of-the-box" and "off-the-wall" songwriting and imaginative musicianship that is immediately embraced by the listener. The influences of Hank Williams, Sr., Merle Haggard, Mark Knopfler, John Lennon, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, ... even Leon Redbone thread and intertwine with Paul's vocal and writing originality throughout the work, presenting quite an intimate side of this gifted, eclectic and engaging songwriter.

Highlights are too numeorus to mention but "As I Cry My Broken Heart To Sleep" is described by Paul as "having been channeled from Hank, Sr., while he was in jail." Producer Heffernan proclaims, "there hasn't been a record cut like that in 50 years." "The Screamin' Hollar Inn" describes Evans' memory of "the worst gig I ever played in the worst dive I was ever in."
"The What" never tells the listener what the song is about, due simply to the subject being too painful to mention and share, but which the song successfully and gently conveys.

"Agua Noir" is music that re-introduces music for the music's sake. It was recorded completely without any commercial agenda which is probably why it's being embraced by audiences in multiple genres everywhere.

Paul's previous album, Endlessly. is also available at AirPlay Direct and downloads of both projects are now available for purchase by consumers at www.VirtualMusicMarket.com.
