Paul Evans started writing and playing country music in Houston, TX in 1980, where he was assigned to the Houston Fire dept's Hazardous Materials Response Team.
He continued writing and playing after moving to NJ in 1984.
In 1988, Paul and family moved to Nashville, so Paul could write and pitch his songs, and so Cookie, his wife, a singer, could search out the ever elusive record deal.
After a month of pounding the pavements on Music Row, Paul hit paydirt at StarGems Records. A song he wrote, "The Pain Growing Old Can Bring" was cut by up-and-coming singer EDDIE THOMPSON. COOKIE also released a single that Paul wrote, "YOUR SINNIN' SOUL" on StarGems, and it reached #28 on several National Indie charts.
Through the mid-90's, Paul continued to write and play in Nashville. He played drums for Marty Martel & The Hall Of Fame Show, a road show that toured nationally and internationally, and included GREATS, like Grand-Pa Jones, Bill Monroe, and Hank Thompson, as well as Jeannie C. Riley, Tommy Cash, Jett Williams and The Drifting Cowboys, Johnny Paycheck, Little Jimmy Dickens, and Ralph Emory.
Moving back to NJ in 1998, Paul started STUDIO PARK RECORDS, a label that issued ONLY Traditional Country music. SPR recieved world-wide acclaim for the 3 CD's issued: COOKIE EVANS, SAMANTHA BERRY, and a compilation, THE STUDIO PARKERS.
After hearing a cut from The Studio Parker's CD, Eidetic Records Nashville artist MICHAEL MASON cut a song on the CD, "CAPE LONELY" that went to #1 in 9 major U.S. radio markets, and reached #31 nationally. It is currently on 8 karaoke CD's, world-wide. Paul was hired as a Staff Writer with Eidetic.
Paul returned to Nashville and cut "Endlessly", another Traditional Country CD, and started PineTone, USA Records, and runs the day to day business from his office in Hammonton, NJ. The CD is doing well in Europe, Australia and Japan.
Paul's latest album, Agua Noir. is also available at AirPlay Direct and downloads of both projects are now available for purchase by consumers at www.VirtualMusicMarket.com.
