About BALLAD OF THE WATCHMAKER

I THOUGHT ABOUT NEW YORK CITY AS I WROTE THIS SONG.
I WALKED TO SCHOOL AT THE FASHION INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY AT 227 WEST 27th STREET IN THE GARMENT DISTRICT AS I LIVED AT 38 WEST 31st AT BROADWAY IN THE
OLD HADSON HOTEL-(the Clark apts.) Every day I stopped
at a tiny hole-in-the-wall Jewish Deli and bought a cup of hot chocolate and a slice of New York Cheesecake. Later I read a
story in my children's school book about a watchmaker, and I put
the 2 together and wrote this song; It is filled with FOND MEMORIES and of a VERY LONELY time I spent in New York City.
I dearly love the place; it has sooo much to offer a person--
but I was so sad I could hardly bear it and it even makes me cry
as I write this. I LOVE NEW YORK CITY. IF I HAD NEVER MOVED TO NYC I'M SURE I WOULD NEVER HAVE WRITTEN MUSIC, BUT--LIVING THERE TORE IT OUT OF ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
