Biography
Born William Theodore Carney III, Jazz Vocalist "T.C.,III" is well versed in the art of jazz vocal styling. Quite naturally He's the son of Philadelphia Jazz Notables, Trudy Pitts & "Mr. C.". This new cd release now on LIFE FORCE JAZZ RECORDS(http://www.lifeforcejazz.com), was recorded live at Philly's own Philadelphia Clef Club Of Jazz And The Performing Arts. Growing up around various Masters of this music, He decided to capture some of this great talent on a first-class recording. Along with legend and great friend, Norman Connors, TC III called up some of their friends and put together an All-Star Cast for a concert that Al Young of The Philadelphia Daily News described as the "Greatest Show In Thirty Years". On this CD, TC III LIVE! MEGA JAZZ EXPLOSION, in which the liner notes were written by the Legendary "Jon Hendricks", TC III sings with some of the industry's most talked about jazz artist to date. Please pay special attention to T.C.,III along with the Legendary Gary Bartz on "SONG FOR DEBRA". Written and Arranged by Elmer Gibson. A great composer/musician and long-time friend of the family. And also the Brilliant Young Jazz Organist Joey DeFrancesco on "ROME ALONE" with TC's own lyrics, written to one of Jazz's most recorded Blues's. NJPAC's own Don Braden is featured on "IF I WERE A BELL" and also on Rahsaan Roland Kirk's "BRIGHT MOMENTS", in which the lyrics that TC sings were written by Todd Barken, who now manages the new jazz venue known as Dizzy's Club CoCa Cola, located within the new pestigious Jazz@Lincoln Center in NYC. On Abby Lincoln's "BIRD ALONE", Trudy Pitt's solo is TREMENDOUS. Clifford Adams who holds down the trombone chair in the famous R&B group "KOOL & THE GANG, along with TC co-arranged HORACE SILVER's "SONG FOR MY FATHER". Not to forget the graceful Dr Eddie Henderson's solo on Miles Davis's "SO WHAT. Winning the 2005 Anheuser-Busch/Jazz Moblie Jazz Vocal Competition and Performing at the 2006 Jazz Journalist Association's Awards Ceremony @ B.B. Kings in NYC, TC III is well on his way as being recognized as one of the Great Jazz Singers Of All Time.
Also a member of The New York Harlem Jazz Messengers along with Jazz Legend Shiela Jordan, Sachal Vasadani and James Zollar, recently returned from a tour of Japan. Add this CD to your airplay rotation. The listeners will love you for it!
