Dark Horse
Dark Horse

Just a shadow in the night
A glimpse of speed in the edge of a headlight.
There he goes you hear them say..
But they’re not fast enough. You’ll run another day.

Dark horse run like the wind up the canyon and down again.
Your great heart beating free unchained.
An apparition a ghost in black. Run hard and don’t look back.
Who knows how long you will remain... untamed/untamed

For years they’ve said you’re in the way.
A dangerous reminder of a bygone day.
Just a problem - an unwanted circumstance.
No one needs wild horses like we need one more ranch.

Dark horse run like the wind up the canyon and down again.
Your great heart beating free unchained.
An apparition a ghost in black. Run hard and don’t look back.
Who knows how long you will remain...

Above the engines you hear shouts.
“He’s got a broken leg. There’s no way out.”
The cruel ropes - they drag you down.
Your great heart stops before you hit the ground.

They drive off and leave you where you died.
But two eyes watch intently burning with fierce pride.
From a mountaintop with a perfect view
Stands a young black stallion that looks a lot like you.

Dark horse run like the wind up the canyon and down again.
Your great heart beating free unchained.
An apparition a ghost in black. Run hard and don’t look back.
Who knows how long you will remain... untamed/untamed
