Santa Fe
My Great Uncle was a hobo. I found this out at a pretty early age. He always did things weird like cook toast on a wire over the stove fire. He used to hop trains from Texas to California he refered to the train line as the Cotton Belt. It ran along Hwy 40 or 10 can't remember. So I wrote a song about Uncle Joe. We happened to live in the little town of Pinole, Ca. in the North Bay Area of California and we had railroad tracks behind our property. I could always hear the trains roll by at night. Often hobos would jump off and run down the hill and get to the street by running between our house and the neighbors. I guess that's why I write train songs. I grew up hearing them most of my life. I have a great video that goes along with this song as well. There are a few train songs on the album Santa Fe. Hope you like this song. My Dad did.
