Confession
This is my confession
I’ve held it for a long time
Covered it with sweet smiles
Wrapped it up in long long
Miles on the road
All I know for certain
Is how much I am hurtin’
I have no friends
Just this faithful guitar

All that holds my heart together
Are songs spun on these strings
That I sing
In quiet little spots
Along my lonely route
To nowhere

I never was a talker
Socially I’m awkward
Unnoticed in most circles
A footnote in the lives
Of others
But I can sing a love song
And I can make a tear fall
Maybe all the tears
Will float someone to me

When I look into the future
A vision so immense
Takes away my breath
Brings me to my depth
Down into a death
I resurrect

All that holds my heart together
Are songs spun on these strings
That I sing
In quiet little spots
Along my lonely route
To somewhere

This is my confession
I’ve held it for a long time
