Biography
ROB BRANDON is no stranger to the world of music. This front man, singer/songwriter turned actor, screenwriter, and producer knows the music business inside and out. By age 17, rising young rock & roll singer Rob Brandon (R.C. Skinner/Shane Skinner/ the early years) was getting national exposure in both Canada and the US. Throughout the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s (see autobiography link), Brandon thrilled North American Rock & Roll audiences as lead singer for national touring and recording acts, The Majority and Doc Savage, both of which featured Rush’s powerhouse drummer, Neil Peart. He also toured with the explosive Démian band which performed the Rock Opera “Rock Star Farm”. This Opera was written by Brandon, and released in 1974 on the Starburst Record label. It still remains a world wide rock & roll classic (see rock Star Farm link).

The Doors manager Danny Sugarman heard the Rock Star Farm release and immediately contacted Brandon to join him in L.A. as the possible replacement for Jim Morrison. He had been chosen from over 2,000 singers around the world. Legal and personal issues however plagued the band and they never launched, but Brandon stayed on the West Coast and continued to rock and to expand his fan base. He fronted “The Fury,” “The Sharks,” as well as the notorious Bay Area “Bad Boys”. He eventually released his independent solo CD entitled: “Animals of the Night” in the late 90s.

In 1999, Brandon traded in his microphone and bad boy image for a Stetson and launched 2 Hats Entertainment, which remains a division of Tall Horse Entertainment; a music and television production company out of Austin, Texas. His production team and technical support staff, many of whom work on the popular PBS Network series “Austin City Limits,” joined Brandon in a vision to create a Gospel Music series that would document an important part of American Music History.

By 2002, Brandon’s highly acclaimed Hill Country Series had already been viewed by millions on Christian network television. To date, the series represents 74 music and television properties including twenty-six half hour Hill Country television episodes; The Hill Country Product Catalog features many of the Gaither Homecoming stars: Ann-Margret, Larry Gatlin, Bob Wills and over forty of today’s popular Christian CDs, DVDs, videos, and related merchandising. Brandon also produced several high-profile Christian Music Specials, including the highly publicized Gospel Train. The special showcased African American Gospel super stars Fred Hammond, Yolanda Adams, Take 6 and a Memphis all-star music line up. The Gospel Train pilot aired an incredible fourteen times on Word Direct TV.

By 2004, Brandon was ready to return to his rock & roll life, Rob sat down with Willie Nelson to ask him for advice on how to reinvent himself and his career. Willie's response was: "You need to go Sci-Fi man! I see you as the Captain Kirk of rock". Inspired by the idea, Rob created a concept. His concept became a screenplay for an epic motion picture and animated series entitled "The Lost Outpost."
