Jay started out jamming on his guitar and playing rock/blues music in the 60s and 70s. for many years ‘real life’ prevented him from pursuing his musical passion and it wasn’t until 2004 at a slack key festival in Hawaii that he decided he should pick up his guitar again. Even though he is a natural at music, he still attended various music camps on the Island of Molokai to really hone in on his skills and his passion. He worked with such people as Keola Beamer, Kevin Brown and Sonny Lim. Ever since then his music has become an extension of his body and simply ‘falls out of my guitar’ as he strums away on the strings. He started recording some of his early efforts and this is how his album ‘Walkin’ on the Jetty’ came to life. All of these songs were done in collaboration with Spinning Dolphin Music.

Jay Syverson is distributed to the world digitally by Blue Pie Records.
