Blanket of Stars
Blanket Of Stars

On a cool, clear night out in the darkness
Before the new moon starts to rise
With no ceiling of clouds to block the heavens
A million stars fill my eyes
And it feels like I can touch forever
Even though I know it’s hard to hold
There’s comfort in the stars,
for restless hearts like ours
A warm, soft blanket ‘round my soul
When things of this world weigh heavy on me;
When peace and quiet's hard to find.
I make my way out to a hillside
Where silence and starlight ease my mind
At times I find myself obsessing
over things in life I’ve yet to do.
Out among the stars I ask a blessing
from the one who’s always seen me through.
