Waitin' on the Daylight
WAITIN’ ON THE DAYLIGHT (© 2014 Davd Borkowski)
Intro – Face the darkness, waitin’ on the daylight
Raised up on the dark side of the mountain
Life’s a daily battle all uphill
Takes everything I’ve got to just keep climbing
When you think it can’t get worse, that’s when it will
But some day I’ve gotta reap the seeds I’ve sown
So I’ve got to keep my shoulder to the stone
Got to make it through the midnight
I’ll face the darkness waitin’ on the daylight
Let the cold winds blow like a pillar I stand still
Life can break my body, it’ll never break my will
I may not win the prize but I won’t give up the fight
I’ll face the darkness waitin’ on the daylight
Some folks are just given to temptatation
Can‘t muster up the strength to just say no
To a pair of wandrin’ eyes or a pair of aces
Am I trouble, apparently so
I’ve never been afraid to cross that line
And I’ve had a ball or two in my time
But through it all she’s right there by my side
So I’ll face the darkness waitin’ on the daylight
Let the cold winds blow like a pillar I stand still
Life can break my body, it’ll never break my will
I may not win the prize, but I won’t give up the fight
I’ll face the morning waitin on the daylight
