Biography
Aaron Nathans & Michael G. Ronstadt, “Crooked Fiddle”
Two creative and accomplished songwriters collaborate for a cello and guitar-filled album of original music that takes the listener to places previously unexplored in song.
Michael is also a member of his Southwestern family band, Ronstadt Generations, and his bandmates Michael J. Ronstadt (his dad) and Petie Ronstadt (his brother) contribute backing vocals. Aaron’s occasional songwriting partner, Phil Henry, also appears.
“Like hydrogen atoms when they fuse, they release tremendous energy. Musically, they come from different worlds. Aaron is a clever songwriter whose greatest strength is his wit and use of language. Michael is a conservatory trained cello virtuoso who reveals a winning playfulness when he performs... They take your mind places it has not been before.” - Gordon Nash, Wise Madness folk music blog.
Linda Ronstadt said of her nephew: “Mikey's a master's level cellist and he also plays the guitar really well. He can play anything really with strings that you pick up, and is really well versed in various rhythm cultures, like Caribbean and Mexican."
DJ Ron Olesko, of WFDU-FM in New Jersey, said of “Cars Don’t Keep”: “When I first heard this song it kind of caught me by surprise. I want you to hear this song, I was really impressed by it. Aaron is just a wonderful songwriter.”
