Premise and Background: Semi-autobiographical song about my own Uncle (Howard Beir) – who was a highly decorated pilot in WW2. The war hero confides that the real courage in his life was overcoming alcohol, so that he could be a “Real father to my own son”, and he shares some life wisdom with his nephew.
