In the 1990’s, John Berry broke on to the country scene with “Your Love Amazes Me,” and continued unleashing hits that included “Standing On The Edge of Goodbye,” “She’s Taken A Shine,” and more.

Though his last Top 40 was 1997’s “I Will If You Will,” his loyal fan base has stood by his brand of country and inspirational music helping to lead to his new studio album What I Love The Most; released after his second successful Kickstarter campaign.

“She’s Mine,” the toe-tapping opener sets the lyrical tone of the album as he praises his better half through his wonderment and gratefulness that she would chose him; quite the same way that he does later on the album with the softer paced “She Don’t Need Me.”

Loving and respecting your spouse is the dominant theme of this collection, whether it’s when he is specifically thanking her for how she’s changed his whole world on “You’re My Sunshine,” or giving us an amazing wedding/anniversary song with “There Could Never Be Another Love.”

Berry offers pieces of relationship advice to the younger male generation on “What A Woman Wants,” when he sings down a list of things that she needs including faithfulness, trust, honesty, security, someone that she can talk to without judgement, etc.

He keeps us moving along with slick guitar riffs on the modern kissed “I Get That All The Time,” and gives us a radio-friendly, up-tempo with “Gotta Lotta Love,” a story-song that takes us on the journey of love from getting married to having a family, but also reminds us that each day is a piece of heaven on earth.

However, “Every Time” is the song that steals the show.
While the lyrics will be taken by some as a praising of his spouse for always being there for him, they can also be heard as an open prayer of thanks to God for always loving us unconditionally.

Led by his purely soulful voice, the lyrics to shine brightly throughout this album as they rely on the true ideals of country music and very strong hooks to make you want to play the songs again and again.

John Berry has delivered the must have country album of 2016 with What I Love The Most; one that is built for the often forgotten demographic of happily married couples and their loving families.
