Biography
Sandra Lyerly is a singer/songwriter from Southwest Virginia. She is a vocalist and acoustic guitarist who also dabbles in other Appalachian acoustic folk style instruments such as fiddle and banjo. Her primary interest in music is writing a good song that tells a story that makes the listener stop what they’re doing and lean in to the words. Inspiration for her writing is drawn from people she has met throughout her life and scenes around her. These elements shine through her songwriting and musical style.

In her musical career, Sandra has performed in a variety of venues and musical groups throughout the Appalachian mountain region. A few highlights include preforming with the band Slow Creek from Front Royal, VA, taking the stage at a musical theater in Bluefield, WV, being video recorded for SoFar Sounds DC, and even once got to open for the legendary Country Gentlemen in Radford, VA. She has recently finished recording her first solo studio album "Summer Evenings", although has written for other albums and projects in the past.

Music is considered to be Sandra’s professional hobby. Since learning her first instrument in the 5th grade elementary school band, music has followed her regardless of where she has lived or what job she has had. When she is not working on a new song, she works full time as a registered nurse on a med surg floor in a hospital. She lives out in the country in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia with her husband and three fur babies.
