We were, 12 years old ten years young I remember it well
Wasting hours by the water, collecting shells
For a small little town, our minds were so grand
Etch our names in the trees, and our dreams in the sand

Those were the days, oh how we would peer down our wishing well
My recollections lazy, but my love I remember you well
My reflections hazy cause Im so much older now
And I dont know where you are, but I wish you well

20 miles, we would walk, seeking ourselves
20 years, what well be, only time will tell
She was left, he was right, yet their hearts would collide
Growing close, then so far, like the sand to the tide

Ive got, dreams of you and Sangria
Within ear shot of Kyoto, Japan
Shes got, cups of tea in Britannia
But I still do not know where she stands

She been to and from San Francisco
Puerto Vallarta and Cozumel
For wherever she may be Id go
But for now Ill just wish you well

We were, 12 years old ten years young I remember it well
Wasting hours by the water, collecting shells
For a small little town, our minds were so grand
Etch our names in the trees, and our dreams in the sand
