Detour

I came upon a fork in the road
The warning signs I did not see
Bear right and go straight through is what I was told
To become what you want to be

Oh but something made me veer to the left
Most definitely…, curiosity
Now I’ve found myself on the detour of my life
And I’ve seen what you wouldn’t believe

Oh, but I’ll be OK
Cause in a roundabout way
I’ve deviated from the route
I was about to take

I’m hoping this route will lead me back
In a way that’ll get my life back on track
Oh what was this digression for?
How’d I ever get on this detour?

Turn around and go back
Or continue…. on through?

Have valor, keep faith
Own knowledge, don’t wait
Bear gumption, find love
Keep spirit, from above
