Biography
“Imagine a red haired Celt from Brittany (France), with a voice that hovers somewhere between Kate Bush, the purity of Sinead O Connor and the mysticism of Enya and you’ll have a good idea what this remarkable young harpist, arranger of traditional songs and original songwriter sounds like.
Corbel belong to this new generation of European folkies, (…) In the sense that she is happy to take crusty old folk standards and reinvent them for the 21st-century audience…”
(BE- Sydney morning Herald – February 2007)

Following the path of prestigious musicians such as Alan Stivell, the young Breton composer and singer now performs her Celtic and world music with her musicians in France and all over the world.

Latest album “SongBook1” (Keltia Musique)

GENERAL INFO
Born in Brittany, Cécile Corbel is the new French talent representing the Celtic culture with a wide approach, mixing traditional Celtic tunes with a modern, acoustic, edge.
Far from the "New Age" cliché, she arranges and interprets some ancient melodies and writes songs inspired by traditional Breton songs, often mixed with other foreign Celtic cultures (Irish, Galician or Turkish...).
Her latest album, SongBook1 (first released Nov. 2006 in France) has been welcomed internationally and brought Cecile’s music to a wider audience, beyond the usual "Celtic" audience.
With a singing sometimes referred to Kate Bush or Tori Amos, she plays the Celtic harp, supported by her musicians: folk guitar, cello, bass and percussions.
The French Celtic music label Keltia Musique (Sinead O'Connor, Loreena McKennit ...) is distributing Cecile’s albums in France.
An Australian and a US tour are now set up during 2008. (US tour set up by Pat Garret at RGM agency)
