My Grand Dad lost his life back in World War 2
My Dad came back from Viet Nam Never heard a single thank you
My cousin Tommy carried our flag across the desert sand
And here we are now in our own back yard
fightin' for our own land

CHORUS:
We're not drivin' tanks or thrown grenades
We're not shootin' machine guns
We're just tryin' hard to stand our ground
And be good ol' Americans
But every day we're striped away the freedom that they fought for
So maybe it's time we knock the riders off their HIGH HORSE

I remember when I was in school, every day before class
We'd stand up cover our hearts and say Pledge Allegiance to the Flag
One nation under God with liberty and justice for all
It's a cryin' shame it's gotten this way cuz our kids can't say that at all

CHORUS:

BRIDGE:
Their buyin' our banks and owning Health Care
While the workin' man sinks it's so unfair
And when our brothers and sisters gave their lives
We thought freedom was the reason why

CHORUS:
They were drivin' tanks thrown grenades
Shootin' machine guns
tryin' hard to stand their ground
For all of us Americans
But every day we're striped away freedom that they fought for
Maybe it's time we knock the riders off their HIGH HORSE
