BRutherz - She's Got Pride
BRutherz, Burrel and Ross Rutherford are originally from Kansas and were raised on several farms and ranches up and down the panhandle from Texas all the way up to Wyoming. They were raised knowing what hard work was and there was very little time for play or recreation. Music became their outlet as they got older with Burrel playing guitar and Ross playing drums.

Burrel received an invite to audition for Tinker Villarreal who did some demo work for Warner Bros Music and Ross tagged along to see what it was like. Before they knew it they were both singing on demo tracks and were developed as a duo. They later moved to Houston, Texas where they perfected their sound and played in several clubs throughout the area as The Rutherford’s. Together they were unstoppable and each with their unique style attracted a very diverse crowd. They began to draw attention from others that would test them both as a duo and as family.

Ross Rutherford was offered to work with Ronald McCown on an album project who wrote several hits and played with Mel Tillis band the Statesiders back in the 70’s. Ross later moved to Nashville where he continued to perform in the clubs on music row and worked on his songwriting skills. After they split, Burrel Rutherford decided to put another band together and hit the road playing several tours throughout the southern states where he also worked on his songwriting. While Burrel and Ross each shared their own accomplishments in the solo realm, they always talked about getting back together someday but many miles separated them from doing so. Eventually Ross ended up moving to the San Antonio area closer to Burrel and both decided to team up for good this time and finish what they had started years ago. BRutherz not only comes from their name, but also represents a strong bond unbroken.

Throughout their career they have had the pleasure of opening and sharing the stage with some of the industries greats like, Toby Keith, Lonestar, Tim McGraw, Sammy Kershaw and George Strait.

The title track of their album, Black & White speaks of a journey not finished and dreams either on hold or put on a shelf. To the person who dreams of bigger things and accomplishing them, their rainbow remains inside. Black & White hints that it’s never to late to finish what you started and don’t let others tell you different. We all have friends who are wind beneath our wings.

BRutherz, Burrel and Ross Rutherford are unique in the fact that most duos only get together for reunions, while this duo has joined forces again to become the strength they once were. Their vocals are better together and their songwriting is better than ever. Their approach to each song is as if they were telling a story from another’s eye. If their music does not make you a fan, meeting them in person truly will.
