Focus on Jesus
I was inspired to write a song with this important message during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. At that time, every news station was covering that topic almost exclusively. Our lives were turned upside down! It seemed to me that most people were so concerned about covid that their focus was on that alone. Jesus was in a back seat, so to speak. That's not the way it should be. Life is full of problems. That will never change. We need to have confidence in our loving and merciful Savior, Jesus Christ.
There is something called the Surrender Novena which influenced my writing of the lyrics. We really need to surrender our wills over to the Lord, as I've said in the song. Who knows better than God how to handle situations which arise that cause us concern? Trust Him, really trust Jesus with your problems. Worrying over what might happen in any given situation will not have any effect on the outcome. Instead, entrust your life and all situations to His loving care. It definitely will set you free. Try it and see for yourself. It's worked for me!

I do want to mention that this song was initially more than 4 1/2 minutes long. A number of people who heard it gave me advice about changes to make it better. After a few different versions, this is the end result.

Robert and I worked together on my first 3 songs many years ago (2005) when he had a recording studio in my area. Despite the fact he's on the other side of the country now, he was able to help me out. A BIG thank you to him! I supplied him with an audio (produced by using my cell phone and laptop rather than recording in a studio with multiple tracks), and he did the rest.
