Never On The Sand
Never On The Sand

Don’t put your faith in the stock market - I’ve seen it crash
No stocks and bonds or gold – is ever gonna last
Not even a brand new car – that won’t get you very far
Even with the greatest of plans – you’re just building on sand

You could travel all around the world - see all the sights
See a different city every day – party late every night
Have a house on every coast – we can tell what matters most
If not eternal it won’t stand – you’re just building on sand

Chorus
I’m going with Jesus, Heaven’s my home,
All these things of earth, will vanish away,
They’ll soon be gone
I want to praise Jesus, stay safe in his hand,
I want to build with God’s promise - on the rock,
Never on the sand

You could be real famous – doing works that are good
But if God don’t get the glory – ain’t doing what you should
Maybe your claim to fame – might be a high-stakes poker game
But you’ll never have a winning hand, if you’re building on sand.

All the money in the world, can never match God’s love,
All your gold with a greedy heart, still wouldn’t be enough
If your great riches would let you stand alone –
One day it’s gone- it’s all gone,
Nothing man-made’s gonna stand, when you’re building on sand.
