Another Day
ANOTHER DAY
WORDS AND MUSIC BY DERWIN HINSON © 2009 BMI

If today instead of hearing my voice
You are reading some words of choice
You see your name on the list of the ones I left behind
Would our last words we said
Still be running through your head
Would you give anything to erase them from your mind

Would we pray that we could undo
The times we failed to work it through
Are we still glad of the choices we made
Would our stubborn hard headed times
Be the last memories in our mind
What if we had the chance of another day

Would we still say who’s wrong or right
So to justify and sleep at night
Or pray those thoughts would go away
Is that little voice that used to shout
Something we’ve learned to live without
What if we had the chance of another day

Would we find it worth the pain
Or just leave the little that remains
Were the times we’ve replaced worth the trade
If somehow we could remove the hurt
Would it be worth the work
What if we had the chance of another day

Can someone see just looking on
Jesus, or is the love gone
How much for each other did we pray
Could our differences be put aside
How hard would we really try
What if we had the chance of another day

Tag-
Could we say my friend you’ve been missed
Would “I’m Sorry” fall from our lips
What if today was our last day
